Grover's Blues

from Twilight Songs by Andrew Rodger

/

about

The origins of Grover's Blues goes back to 1996... I lovingly call it "my forgotten song" - somewhere along the way I had stopped playing it and recently discovered it in an old recording project. It has quickly become a personal favorite and a fan favorite.

lyrics

My mind feels cloudy today
Couldn’t find the words I needed to say
Here I am hiding in a song again
Do you know I think about you when the day seems long

When I’m by your side and you’re sleeping
I steal one more look at your face
Just so it’s the last thing that I see
As I fade into the night

Beauty burns through the clouds of my mind
Yes her beauty burns through the clouds of my mind
Everything is changing
Yes everything uh-huh is changing
Uh-huh

Let’s travel together through the universe that is our minds
Who cares if we get lost some of the time
Full moon in the sky hangs above me
I stop in my tracks and I smile

Dreaming about a hotel in Paris
Where we may or may not have been in the twenties
But it was such a comfortable space
Best sleep I’ve had in my life

Beauty burns through the clouds of my mind
Yes her beauty burns through the clouds of my mind
Everything is changing
Yes everything uh-huh is changing
Uh-huh
