about

We have a lot of fun at our house and a lot of silly phrases pop up in our conversations. When I find a certain phrase interesting or inspiring, I jot it down on a piece of paper.

Phrases like, "two scoops of soup" or the idea of planting a "pepper tree that makes you sneeze when you're outside"...

Eventually, I end up with lots of little pieces of paper sitting on the shelf of my music room. So, when I sat down to write a silly song during a writing session, I went to my silly papers collection to create "Laser Beans".

I wanted to convey the message that it is more than okay to be silly sometimes. We often hear the expression, "seeing the world through rose coloured glasses". Maybe we should all see the world through googly eye glasses more often?

A fun song to write, record and play, I felt it was the perfect way to set the tone for the album.

lyrics

Lyrics:

Well
We make a pretty good team
Like peanut butter and laser beans
Wait that’s not what I mean
I meant to say jelly

What can you do when your animal cracker
Gets broken in two
Take it to a vet
Keep it for a pet
Or do you just eat em

It’s fun to be
Silly sometimes
Looking at the world through googly eyes
It’s fun to be
Silly sometimes
Looking at the world through googly eyes

Now what in the world is making me sneeze
What’s causing these allergies
Maybe it’s the pepper tree
I planted in the garden

Once I saw a circus troupe
Doing a loop de loop
When they were done
They gave everyone
Two scoops of soup

Well it’s fun to be
Silly sometimes
Looking at the world through googly eyes
It’s fun to be
Silly sometimes
Looking at the world through googly eyes

Well
We make a pretty good team
Like peanut butter and laser beans
Wait that’s not what I mean
I meant to say jelly

It’s fun to be
Silly sometimes
Looking at the world through googly eyes
It’s fun to be
Silly sometimes
Looking at the world through googly eyes
