When doing school shows, I always make sure to leave time for a Q & A with the kids at the end whenever possible - they ask a lot of fun and interesting questions! I always try to be as honest as possible with them in my answers, but phrase them in a way they can understand.

After several shows, I have been asked if I have any songs about dinosaurs... Well, I do now!

I didn't want to write a typical "dinosaur eats stuff" kind of song. So, to write "My Dinosaur", I thought about my own childhood and a Stegosaurus stuffy that I still have with me to this day - my kids play with him now.

I thought about how my stuffed buddies would often go on imaginary adventures with me, or trips to the store with my mom and me. Some of my fondest memories as a kid were the trips to town, or to one of the bigger cities nearby, to do some shopping with my mom.

There is a certain innocence to the vibe of this song - a tribute to my childhood. I was a lucky kid!
